    Ninteen Ninety Six £7.99
by Jacqueline Doyle Date Added: Thursday 17 June, 2010
This book is a frank truthful reflection on working class life in 1970s/80s Ireland, Dubliln in Particular. The central character's personal journey through a failed marraige and latter physical and romantic encounters, as well as her relationship with her children is both thought provoking and emotive. The historical facts about India and the vivid descriptions - from the sumptuous palaces to the backstreet slums and de-humanising poverty, makes me want to go and explore it for myself. Altogether a reflective, emotional and very enjoyable read.
